A few weeks ago, I posted that Parliament was considering renaming the Clock Tower at Westminster Palace in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. According to the Telegraph, last night the measure passed the House of Commons, so all that’s left to do is plan a ceremony and get the new signs made.

No word yet on when the renaming ceremony will take place, but if you’d like to learn more about the clock (largest four-faced chiming clock and the third-tallest free-standing clock tower in the world) or the five bells inside (including Big Ben himself), as well as some fun stuff like downloads and games, you can visit the official Big Ben/Elizabeth Tower web page here.
